Objective:

To prepare the student to be employed at the entry level in the cosmetologist/hair styling fields and receive a cosmetology license. Students will also receive information about compensation package, payroll deductions and career information such as professional ethics, effective communication, and human Relations.

Instructional Methods:

This course is taught in theory and practical methods. Instructors at our Cosmetology School in Florida will use blackboards, audio/visual aids, and demonstration materials.

Program Description:

Training includes beginning basic curriculum. In this portion, students learn sanitation, shampooing, hair styling, hair coloring, permanent waving, and hair removal. After completion of these basic procedures, students begin working daily on the clinic floor where they practice their services. This program is offered in Spanish. Please note that graduates under the age of 18 may have certain regulations that reduce their ability to become employed.

Grading Procedure:
Instructors will use tests, quizzes, and practical exams throughout the program in order to evaluate the student’s progress.

Graduation:

Students must complete all listed hours and services, in addition to academic requirements and financial obligation to be considered a graduate and awarded a Diploma.

Possible Occupations: Graduates of this course can expect these possible occupations upon licensure:
Hairdresser, Hair colorist, manicurist, facial specialist, Salon manager, Makeup artist, beauty consultant, and others.

This course provides a fundamental knowledge of HIV/Aids awareness.
HEALTH, SANITATION AND INFECTION CONTRO (COS101) 35 0
This course provides steps on how to become and maintain a healthy and sanitized Cosmetology profession.

This course provides a basic understanding and practice of Shampooing and rinsing. Instruction includes movements and correct product use.

This course provides a very basic understanding and practice of facials, make-up and hair removal. Instruction is very basic and does not go into as much detail as the Facial specialist course.

This course provides a very basic understanding and practice of Manicure, Pedicure and Nail Extensions. Instruction is very basic and does not go into as much detail as the Nail Technology specialist courses.

This course provides a very basic understanding and practice of the career of Cosmetology. Instruction includes salary and tip reporting and IRS regulations as well as state and Federal employment requirements.
